From May 29 to June 1, 2024, Bohdan Mostovyi took part in a peace conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event entitled “Bridging the Divide: Processes of healing wounded memory in former Yugoslavia” was held in the city of Trebinje and was organized by the Austrian “Pro Oriente” Foundation and the Herzegovina Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Among the participants of the event, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church prevailed. The leitmotif of all speeches was the imperative of reconciliation of all the peoples who participated in the Yugoslav wars (mainly Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks). Unlike many mono-religious countries, for Bosnia, as for Ukraine, establishing positive interfaith and inter-ethnic relations is not just an option, but a natural precondition for peace.

In his speech, Bohdan Mostovyi noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina, with its three religious identities, can be an example of living ecumenism – both for Ukraine and for all Europe. Since some time through the assistance of the Charitable Foundation “Academic Initiative”, Bohdan Mostovyi studies theology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
