On June 17, the Ostroh Academy hosted a scientific seminar “Local Church from Eastern Catholic and Orthodox perspectives”. It was organized by the Ukrainian Christian Academic Society (UChAT). Sergii Bortnyk, a professor at the Kyiv Theological Academy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, took part at the seminar as a discussant. The seminar was held in real mode, but some speakers and discussants took part in it in ZOOM mode.
In addition to comments on the speeches, Sergii Bortnyk spoke about the experience of the German Commission of Christian Churches (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der christlichen Kirchen), which aims to deepen cooperation between member churches and includes mutual recognition of the baptism of the faithful.
