In April 2025, the project “Modern Ukrainian Orthodoxy: Destroying myths for the sake of reconciliation of the Orthodox in Ukraine and consolidation of Ukrainian society” included events organized by the Sofia Brotherhood. In addition to participating in the webinar earlier in the month (which has already been reported on our website), Sergii Bortnyk gave an interview and took part in a roundtable discussion.
In particular, he gave an interview to Ilona Sokolovska, which was broadcast on Viche channel on April 16. It was titled “Why is the UOC silent? An Inside Look” and received thousands of views. In this interview, Sergii Bortnyk attempted to outline the theological arguments for the position of the leadership and a significant part of the UOC believers.
On 29 April, Kyiv hosted a roundtable with three panel discussions. In particular, Sergii Bortnyk and several experts, including those from the United States and Germany, spoke at the discussion “Public perspective: The role of society and media in overcoming divisions and prejudice”.
