More than 200,000 euros to help the needy: the humanitarian component of our foundation’s activity

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine in February 2022, the “Academic Initiative” charitable foundation expanded its activities. Since then, humanitarian assistance to the needy has become an essential component of our work. Help through orthodox parishes – initially in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as to families with children with developmental disabilities – became an important direction.

Gradually, the foundation expanded its assistance to other regions, especially in eastern Ukraine – Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. The foundation also provides individual support to the chronically ill persons, families with several children, forced migrants, war victims and other needy persons.

Among the permanent partners of our Foundation are the following church institutions:

  • Catholic action “Renovabis”, Germany,
  • Catholic archdiocese of Paderborn, Germany,
  • Protestant Churches of Hannover, Germany,
  • Forum “Religion and society in East and West”, Switzerland,
  • Parish of the University St. Peter Church in Heidelberg, Germany,
  • Protestant church district Soest-Arnsberg, Germany.

We are thankful both to our regular partners and one-time donors. Through their help, thousands of Ukrainians received financial support and hope for the better life.
