On October 4-7, 2023, the 16th Ecumenical Social Week took place in Lviv. Naturally, its theme was the issue of the ongoing war – “From war towards lasting peace: through justice and solidarity”.
In addition to the religious-ecumenical block, it had a number of other blocks: historical-political one, cultural-educational one, informational one and blocks dedicated to ecology and migration. Especially interesting were discussion “Did the world get vaccinated against Russian propaganda? Role of media and communications” and panel “World policy and war in Ukraine: where is the world going?”
Two religious events should also be noted. This is the panel “On the way to peace: the role of churches and religious organizations”, initiated by the Conference of European Churches, and round table “Ecumenism in Ukraine during the war, consequences for the future”, organized by the Ukrainian Christian Academic Society.
